Smart View fails to connect in a distributed environment. Workaround: 1. On the HSF Web App host, specify the network address of the HSF server (because it defaults to localhost) in [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Hyperion Solutions\HSFWebServices\network address].
2. Copy HSFGatewayJNI.dll from HSF Server host ...hsf\bin and ...hsf\bin-64 to same locations on HSF Web App host. |
If an entity is from a version of Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance prior to version 11.1.2.1, before opening the entity in Smart View it is necessary to make sure the entity has been updated. This can be done by opening the entity in the Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance client or by using the Edit/Convert menu option from the entities tab of the Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance Administrator.
When running the client installer on Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines it is necessary to either run the installer using the "Run as administrator" option or set the User Account Control setting to "Never Notify" prior to running the installer. Note: when changing the User Account Control setting is it necessary to reboot the machine for the changed setting to take effect.
When logging onto Hyperion Strategic Finance from Crystal Ball by using the More Tools/Strategic Finance option the Strategic Finance log on page fails to receive focus.

Hyperion Financial Management integration is not available on a 64-bit OS |
For Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance to work correctly it is necessary for the Hyperion Strategic Finance Java Web App, the Hyperion Strategic Finance .NET Web Services and the Hyperion Strategic Finance Server to be deployed on the same machine.
Hyperion Financial Management integration is not available on a 64-bit OS, 64bit client tier running Smart View, Hyperion Strategic Finance, and Hyperion Financial Management clients work around:
1. Install HFM ADM driver and configure DCOM.
The ADM driver allows for a connection to the EPM registry, and got us past
the class not registered error when clicking on the connect button.
2. Copy windows registry contents from
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HFM] to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ORACLE\HFM], and from
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hyperion Solutions\Hyperion Financial
Management\JavaInterop] to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hyperion
Solutions\Hyperion Financial Management\JavaInterop].
3. Install 32bit Java 6 and change
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hyperion Solutions\Hyperion
Financial Management\JavaInterop\JvmPath] to point to the 32bit jvm.dll.
The Wbocx.ocx can be registered manually by running the following from a command prompt that has been opened with the "Run as administrator" option.
On 32-bit machines: %WINDIR%\system32\regsvr32 %WINDIR%\system32\wbocx.ocx
On 64-bit machines: %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\regsvr32 %WINDIR%\SysWOW64\wbocx.ocx
For PS3 500 the 64-bit client installer will be delivered with the HSF Opatch. The EPM Static Content folder will be patched with both the 32-bit and 64-bit MSI and the user will be able to pick it up from that location.
For Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance in the Smart View private connections it is necessary to put "HSFServer" in the server field instead of the actual HSF server's name.
For Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance to import from or export to an HFM application it is necessary for the HFM application to have four custom dimensions.

[NOTE TO WRITERS: If the patch is cumulative, check with your product team about whether to include any known issues from the earlier patches.]
This section includes important information about applying this patch for Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance.
[NOTE TO WRITERS: Make sure that instructions for applying the PATCH indicate specifically which components are being patched and which machines in a distributed installation should be patched. for example, on the machine hosting the shared services web application, ]
[NOTE TO WRITERS: For web applications, make sure you provide instructions for all supported application servers.]
Follow these steps when applying this patch:
1. Uninstall Strategic Finance Client (if present).
2. Install Strategic Finance Client 11.1.2.3.507 by running HSFClient.exe or HSFClient-x64.exe depending on if the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Office is being used.
3. Apply OPatch for Strategic Finance 11.1.2.3.507.
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME> is C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME> is C:\Oracle\Middleware
Before applying this patch, please close all Strategic Finance applications that may be running and stop all Strategic Finance services on the host being patched.
If both the Strategic Finance Client and Server are installed on the same box, when uninstalling Strategic Finance Client, do not select the Delete Common Components option box.
Skip this set of steps if the Strategic Finance server components are not installed on the host being patched.
The following steps for patching are the same for both 32-bit and 64-bit server installs.
1. Copy the server patch file to the <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch directory.
Patch file name:
32-bit OS: hsf_11.1.2.3.507.2595_win32.zip
64-bit OS: hsf_11.1.2.3.507.2595_amd64.zip
2. Unzip the patch file to the <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch directory.
NOTE: Unzipping the patch file will automatically create a subdirectory of the same name.
3. From a command line, change the directory to <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch.
4. To apply the patch, enter the following command on one line:
32-bit OS:
opatch.bat apply <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\OPatch\hsf_11.1.2.3.507.2595_win32 -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jre <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\jdk160_35
64-bit OS:
opatch.bat apply <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\OPatch\hsf_11.1.2.3.507.2595_amd64 -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jre <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\jdk160_35
Start all Strategic Finance services.
To roll back a patch:
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME> is C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME> is C:\Oracle\Middleware
Before rolling back this patch, please close all Strategic Finance applications that may be running and stop all Strategic Finance services on the host being rolled back.
Skip this set of steps if the Strategic Finance server is not installed or was not patched on the host.
The following steps for rolling back are the same for both 32-bit and 64-bit server installs.
1. - From a command line, change the directory to <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch.
2. - From the command line window, enter the following command on one line:
opatch.bat rollback id 21213553 oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jre <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\jdk160_35
Skip this set of steps if the Strategic Finance client is not installed or was not patched on the host.
1. - Uninstall Oracle Hyperion Strategic Finance Client.
2. - Copy and run the pre-patched, original Strategic Finance client installer from the Strategic Finance server. The client installer can be found in the <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/common/epmstatic/wspace/hsf/Client directory.
Start all Strategic Finance services.
If the patch that you apply conflicts with a previously applied patch, you may receive the following error message when running OPatch:
Patch(es) <PreviousPatch#> conflict with the patch currently being installed (<NewPatch#>).
If you continue, patch(es) <PreviousPatch#> will be rolled back and the new patch (<NewPatch#>) will be installed.
If a merge of the new patch (<NewPatch#>) and the conflicting patch(es) (<PreviousPatch#>) is required, contact Oracle Support Services and request a Merged patch.
This error is returned when one patch attempts to update a previously patched file. When this conflict happens, you can either (1) roll back the previous patch and apply the new patch (this action might be appropriate if the previous patch was not critical) or (2) request a merged patch consisting of the new patch and the patch that it conflicts with. To request a merged patch, contact your Oracle Support representative.
This warning means that the patch being applied is a superset of a patch already on the deployment and the existing patch will be rolled back. The following snippet shows the context of this warning.
The following warnings have occurred during OPatch execution:
1) OUI-67078:Interim patch 12345678 is a superset of the patch(es) [77777777] in OH C:\Hyperion
