HFM
Insights now includes a Statistics section that displays detailed data
statistics based on a selected Scenario and Year combination. You can choose when to manually update the
statistics.
To
update statistics:
1.
Select
Navigate, then Administer, and then Consolidation
Administration.
2.
Select
System, and then Insights.
3.
From
the Statistics section, click the Data tab.
4.
Click
the Member Selector, select a
Scenario and Year, and click OK.
5. Click the Execute button to run the process and return statistics on the selected Scenario and Year combination.
Note:
When you click the Execute button and update statistics, the button is disabled for a certain period of time while the process runs. The task runs in the background, and you can navigate to other parts of the application while it is running. When it is done, the button is re-enabled and the table is refreshed with the updated statistics. You can also click Refresh to see the updated values.
If there are no records in a particular table, the system does not display any statistics for that table.
Data tab
· Data (DCE and DCN total record count per Scenario/Year combination)
· Invalid records (invalid member ID), DCE and DCN only, Total count only (not per entity)
· Near Zero Value Records for all periods
· Near Zero Value Calculated Records for all periods
· PFlow History (per Scenario/Year)
· Input Data (if any period in the year is Input or Line Item Details)
Table Count tab
The Table Count tab displays record counts of the following Oracle Hyperion Financial Management system tables and the times they were last executed.
· Task Audit
· Data Audit
· System Messages (Error Log table)
· Rules Profile data
A new parameter has been added to control
the maximum number of concurrent consolidations allowed per user. The parameter
is named MaxNumConcurrentConsolidationsPerAction. The default value is 8.
When user selects multiple entities in the
grid to run multiple Consolidations, the Consolidation processes will run each
selected entity, up to the number indicated by this setting for that user. Any
consolidations performed above the configured value will be queued as Scheduled
Consolidations and run according to their Scheduled Start Status. If a serial
execution is preferred, set this parameter to 1.
To set the parameter:
You now use the Application Creation wizard to create applications. In the Application Creation wizard, you can define the application calendar, application settings, module configuration, and custom dimensions. You can also copy an existing application to create a new one, or create an application from a profile file.
HFM Insights provides a dashboard for system administrators to monitor HFM system status. It displays data collected from system components over a period of time and enables administrators to take corrective action if necessary.
This release includes support for Solaris on Exalytics only.
A Printable Page option has been added to Entity Detail reports, and is also available when you view Source and Destination transactions.
After you create an application, you can now modify it to increase the number of years used in the application if needed.
When you load or extract Application Elements, you now have the option to download the load or extract log file.
Financial Management application tabs now include the same right-mouse click options as EPM Workspace, including Close, Close All, and Close Others.
You can open and work with journals directly in Smart View. You can view journal properties, create, edit, submit, approve, post, unpost, and delete journals. You can also create an ad hoc query from within a journal.
In addition, in Smart View, you can now
access the Manage Journals module through a tasklist.
To use journals in Smart View, you must have the Oracle Smart View Release 11.1.2.5.500.
You can use rules profiling to capture in-depth information about rules execution at the major subroutine level. Rules profiles include statistics about time spent calculating, translating, and consolidating each entity during a consolidation task.
You can duplicate of the contents of an application to create a new application. You can duplicate an application in the same environment and rename it, or register the new application in a different project and cluster.
You can import an application across databases or across EPM systems. Both EPM systems should use Oracle DB or SQL Server.
For details,
see the Oracle Hyperion Financial Management 11.1.2.4.200 Administrator’s
Guide.
This release includes the ability to view data grids, data forms, and Process Control information as charts. You can customize the chart display, and also print charts.

adequate system resources are available to the operating system user who
installs and runs the software. Resources can be controlled at the system level
via /etc/sysctl.conf (Linux) or /etc/system
(Solaris), and per user via the ulimit utility.
Consult your operating system documentation for more information on how to set
hard and soft resource limits. The following table describes limits that are
known to affect HFM.
Resource |
Recommended
System Wide Limit |

Process Limit |
File Descriptors (open files). If the value set for this parameter is
too low, a file open error, memory allocation failure, connection error, or
process hang may occur. |
6148240 Linux only. (On Solaris, there is no maximum open file descriptors setting. They are
allocated on demand as long as there is free RAM available.) For example: cat /proc/sys/fs/file-max This setting can be changed in /etc/sysctl.conf via the fs.file-max
parameter |

for example: ulimit -n |
This section includes important information about applying this patch.
To apply this patch:
1. Ensure that all services are stopped.
2. Ensure that all HFM processes are not running, including HsxServer, XFMDataSource, and HFMWeb.
3. Download and unzip the downloaded patch file, <PATCH FILE NAME>.zip, to the <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch directory (by default, Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/OPatch).
NOTE: <PATCH FILE NAME>.zip is the name that My Oracle Support assigns to this patch. When you download the file, a message indicates the file name.
4. On the HFM Application Server and HFM Web Server, from a command line, change the directory to <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch.
5. To apply the patch, enter the following command on one line:
Windows:
opatch.bat apply <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch/<PATCH
DIRECTORY> -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>
-jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35
NOTE: The default for <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> is C:/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1. The default for <MIDDLEWARE_HOME> is C:/Oracle/Middleware.
UNIX/Linux:
./opatch apply <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch/<PATCH
DIRECTORY> -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jdk
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35 -invPtrLoc
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/oraInst.loc
NOTE: The default for <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> is $HOME/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1. The default for <MIDDLEWARE_HOME> is $HOME/Oracle/Middleware.
6. If you are applying this patch to version 11.1.2.4.000, execute the following sql command to upgrade the schema against the Financial Management database. Use appropriate sql as per your database type.
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\FinancialManagement\Server\conf\<DB Type>_from_11.1.2.4.000_to_11.1.2.4.100_SchemaUpgrade.sql
If you are using SQL Server, ignore the following warning:
Warning! The maximum key length is 900 bytes. The index 'PK_XFM_PARAMETERS_NEW' has maximum length of 1500 bytes. For some combination of large values, the insert/update operation will fail.
If
you are applying this patch to version 11.1.2.4.100 or an earlier version, also
execute the following sql command to upgrade the
schema against the Financial Management database. Use appropriate sql as per your database type.
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\FinancialManagement\Server\conf\<DB Type>_from_11.1.2.4.100_to_11.1.2.4.102_SchemaUpgrade.sql
If
you are applying this patch to version 11.1.2.4.102 or an earlier version, also
execute the following sql command to upgrade the
schema against the Financial Management database. Use appropriate sql as per your database type.
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\FinancialManagement\Server\conf\<DB Type>_from_11.1.2.4.102_to_11.1.2.4.200_SchemaUpgrade.sql
If
you are applying this patch to version 11.1.2.4.203 or an earlier version, also
execute the following sql command to upgrade the
schema against the Financial Management database. Use appropriate sql as per your database type.
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\FinancialManagement\Server\conf\<DB Type>_from_11.1.2.4.203_to_11.1.2.4.204_SchemaUpgrade.sql
In
addition, you must run:
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\FinancialManagement\Server\conf\Oracle_Create_ImportApp_package.pck
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\FinancialManagement\Server\conf\Oracle_Create_InsightDetails.pck
or
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\FinancialManagement\Server\conf\SQL_Server_Create_ImportApp_sprocs.sql
<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\FinancialManagement\Server\conf\SQL_Server_Create_InsightDetails_sprocs.sql
This step is required for importing applications. See “Importing Applications” in the “New Features” section.
7. If you are using the extract data to database functionality with Oracle database as the target database, you will need to reconfigure DSN. To reconfigure:
1.
Select Navigate, then Administer, and then Consolidation
Administration.
2. From Admin Tasks, click Configure DSN.
3. Select any data source that has Oracle database as database type, and then click on Edit.
4. Enter the database connection information, including the database server network address as Host.
5. Click Test Connection. If successful, click on Save.
8. All users should now clear cached files from their browsers.
To roll back a patch:
1. To roll back the patch, enter the following command on one line:
Windows:
opatch.bat rollback -id <PATCH ID> -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35
NOTE: The default for <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> is C:/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1. The default for <MIDDLEWARE_HOME> is C:/Oracle/Middleware.
UNIX/Linux:
./opatch rollback -id <PATCH ID> -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME> /jdk160_35 -invPtrLoc <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/oraInst.loc
NOTE: The default for <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> is $HOME/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1. The default for <MIDDLEWARE_HOME> is $HOME/Oracle/Middleware.
2. All users should now clear cached files from their browsers.
If the patch that you apply conflicts with a previously applied patch, you may receive the following error message when running OPatch:
Patch(es) <PreviousPatch#> conflict with the patch currently being installed (<NewPatch#>).
If you continue, patch(es) <PreviousPatch#> will be rolled back and the new patch (<NewPatch#>) will be installed.
If a merge of the new patch (<NewPatch#>) and the conflicting patch(es) (<PreviousPatch#>) is required, contact Oracle Support Services and request a Merged patch.
This error is returned when one patch attempts to update a previously patched file. When this conflict happens, you can either (1) roll back the previous patch and apply the new patch (this action might be appropriate if the previous patch was not critical) or (2) request a “merged patch” consisting of the new patch and the patch that it conflicts with. To request a merged patch, contact your Oracle Support representative.
This warning means that the patch being applied is a superset of a patch already on the deployment and the existing patch will be rolled back. The following snippet shows the context of this warning.
The following warnings have occurred during OPatch execution:
1) OUI-67078:Interim patch 12345678 is a superset of the patch(es) [77777777] in OH C:\Hyperion
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OPatch Session completed with warnings.
In EPM System Release 11.x, you can use the lsinventory command to OPatch to find the release and patches that are installed in an Oracle Home. For example, enter the following command on one line:
Windows:
opatch.bat lsinventory -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35
UNIX/Linux:
./opatch lsinventory -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35 –invPtrLoc <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/oraInst.loc
When patching an .EAR file for an application, you may need to delete the cached files in the following folders in order to see the changes provided with the patch:
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_NAME>/servers/
<MANAGED_SERVER_NAME>/tmp/
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_NAME>/servers/
<MANAGED_SERVER_NAME>/cache
