About This Patch

Apply this patch to use Internet Explorer Release 11 in standard mode instead of in Enterprise mode. After you apply this patch, you can no longer use Enterprise mode. You must apply the 11.1.2.3.700 PSU for all EPM products in your deployment. For details, see the Prerequisites section.

NOTE:  This patch supports Internet Explorer release 11 for ADF mode only; this patch does not support Internet Explorer release 11 for the Classic view. ADF mode and Classic view are different user interfaces available in Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager.

This Readme file describes the defects fixed in this patch and the requirements and instructions for applying this patch.

Caution: Oracle urges you to carefully read and understand the following requirements. Failure to comply may result in applying a patch that can cause your application to malfunction, including interruption of service and/or loss of data. Before installing or applying this patch:

Other Required Patches

1.  Ensure that this product's 11.1.2.3.5xx patch is installed first. Since the Calculation Manager 11.2.3.5XX patches are cummulative, ensure that one of the PSU's from above (Supported Paths to this Patch) is installed first.  All patches must be applied on any machines where Foundation Services is installed. After all patches are deployed, you must redeploy the web applications.

2.  Apply WebLogic Server Patch 17437110 for Release 10.3.6 to use Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese language settings when using Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. For instructions on applying the patch, see Oracle Smart Update: Applying Patches to Oracle WebLogic Server

3.  Apply ADF MLR Patch 21240419

4.  Apply these required EPM System release 11.1.2.3.700 PSUs first:

o         Apply Oracle Hyperion Shared Services 11.1.2.3.700 PSU - 20675028

o         Apply Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management Workspace 11.1.2.3.700 PSU - 20612400

5.  Apply the 11.1.2.3.700 PSUs for all other EPM products in your deployment. Use the table below to find EPM product 11.1.2.3.700 PSU patch numbers. If the product is not listed, then it does not have a 11.1.2.3.700 PSU, and no action is needed.

Note: For Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager, apply the patch on all computers where Oracle Hyperion Planning, or Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition, or Oracle Essbase is deployed.

Note: If you are using IBM WebSphere Application Server, you must redeploy the EPM System web applications after applying EPM System release 11.1.2.3.700 PSUs.

Issue

• 17670292

In a script rule, creating a new object by using Action on the tool bar menu, the message stating the new object is created and opened for editing may continue to show after clicking OK.  Continue to click OK until the message is no longer shown and the new object will open.  Workaround:  Create the new object from System view, and the message will no longer be shown after clicking OK the first time.

• 17851179

When you right-click an object to access menus in Calculation Manager, the menus may not be displayed and Internet Explorer menus may be displayed instead. For example, when you are using the debug feature, you must click to the right of the breakpoint to access the right-click menus.

Workaround: If the browser’s right-click menu is shown instead of Calculation Manager’s, try clicking to the right of the item, and Calculation Manager’s menu should display.

• 17922118

When you drag an object into the Script Editor, the text may be pasted at the beginning instead of the current cursor position in the script.

Workaround: Copy the text from the first line and paste it to the required position.

• 17930545

In Calculation Manager views, business rule names with spaces display correctly with the spaces.  When you open a business rule whose name contains spaces, the tab on which the business rule displays does not contain spaces in the business rule name.

• 17981863

When you open the Print dialog to print an object and select the Generate PDF option, Calculation Manager displays the PDF but may not close the Print dialog box after you close the PDF.

• 18003547

When you set the browser language for Internet Explorer 9 or 10 to Arabic (ar-ae), which is a bidirectional language, the expand icons, which display as pluses (that is, +) may not be displayed in the System View of Calculation Manager and it may be difficult to expand the nodes in the System View.

• 18050764

Oracle recommends that you do not open more than 10 tabs within Calculation Manager for performance and memory optimization. If you open more than 10 tabs, errors may be generated.

• 18086809

When the browser language is set to Arabic (ar-ae), any functions with members are displayed as ("FUNCTION("MEMBER@

For example: ("IDESCENDANT("Q1@ should be displayed @IDESCENDANT("Q1").

• 18958860

When you save as on a rule that is in script, the saved as rule may not display or may not display correctly.  Workaround:  Click on the tab for System View, if the saved as rule is shown, close the rule and reopen.

• 20883988

In a Hyperion Planning application that is enabled for Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management Architect validating a rule that uses any attribute function may fail, stating the member cannot be found.

Applying This Patch

This section includes important information about applying this patch for Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager.

To apply this patch:

1.    Check whether any of these products, Calculation Manager, Hyperion Planning, Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management ERP Integrations Adapter for Oracle Applications (ERP Integrator), Oracle Essbase Administration Services (Administration Services), and Oracle Essbase  is installed and their services are running.  If so, stop the following services:  CALC Manager - Web Application, Hyperion Planning - Web Application, ERP Integrator - Web Application, the Administration Services - Web Application, and Oracle Essbase.

2.    Download and unzip the downloaded patch file, 21292109.zip, to the <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch directory (by default, Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/OPatch).

NOTE: 21292109.zip is the name that My Oracle Support assigns to this patch. When you download the file, a message indicates the file name.

3.    On all servers that have the products mentioned in step #1 installed from a command line, change the directory to <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch.

4.    To apply the patch, enter the following command on one line:

Windows:

opatch.bat apply <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch/21292109 -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>-jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35

NOTE: The default for <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> is C:/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1. The default for <MIDDLEWARE_HOME> is C:/Oracle/Middleware.

UNIX/Linux:

./opatch apply <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch/21292109 -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35 -invPtrLoc <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/oraInst.loc

NOTE: The default for <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> is $HOME/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1. The default for <MIDDLEWARE_HOME> is $HOME/Oracle/Middleware.

5.    For WebSphere deployments, you must use EPM System Configurator to redeploy the Web application.  Users should now clear cached files from their browsers.

NOTE:  For Weblogic this step is not required.

6.    On the server where Calculation Manager is installed, delete the cached files in the following directories:

<Middleware_Home>/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_NAME>/servers/<CalcMgr0>/tmp

<Middleware_Home>/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_NAME>/servers/<CalcMgr0>/cache

7.    Start the services you stopped in Step #1.

8.    All users should now clear cached files from their browsers.

NOTE:  If you have installed Calculation Manager without Workspace, applying the Opatch may not work.  As a workaround:

a.  stop the services from step1 above

b.  Copy the calcmgr.ear file from

<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>OPatch\21292109\files\products\foundation\CALC\AppServer\InstallableApps

c.  paste the file to

<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>\products\foundation\CALC\AppServer\InstallableApps

d.  copy the .jar files from

<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>OPatch\21292109\files\common\calcmgr\11.1.2.0\lib

e.  paste the .jar files to

<EPM_ORACLE_HOME>common\calcmgr\11.1.2.0\lib

f.  Restart the services you stopped in step 1 above.

Troubleshooting FAQs

Why do I get the following patch conflict error message when running OPatch?

If the patch that you apply conflicts with a previously applied patch, you may receive the following error message when running OPatch:

Patch(es) <PreviousPatch#> conflict with the patch currently being installed (<NewPatch#>).

If you continue, patch(es) <PreviousPatch#> will be rolled back and the new patch (<NewPatch#>) will be installed.

If a merge of the new patch (<NewPatch#>) and the conflicting patch(es) (<PreviousPatch#>) is required, contact Oracle Support Services and request a Merged patch.

This error is returned when one patch attempts to update a previously patched file. When this conflict happens, you can either (1) roll back the previous patch and apply the new patch (this action might be appropriate if the previous patch was not critical) or (2) request a “merged patch” consisting of the new patch and the patch that it conflicts with. To request a merged patch, contact your Oracle Support representative.

Why do I get the OUI-67078 warning message when applying OPatch?

This warning means that the patch being applied is a superset of a patch already on the deployment and the existing patch will be rolled back. The following snippet shows the context of this warning.

The following warnings have occurred during OPatch execution:

1) OUI-67078:Interim patch 12345678 is a superset of the patch(es) [77777777] in OH C:\Hyperion

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OPatch Session completed with warnings.

How can I find out which releases and patches of EPM System products are installed in a deployment?

In EPM System Release 11.x, you can use the lsinventory command to OPatch to find the release and patches that are installed in an Oracle Home. For example, enter the following command on one line:

Windows:

opatch.bat lsinventory -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35

UNIX/Linux:

./opatch lsinventory -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jdk <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_35 –invPtrLoc <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/oraInst.loc

I applied the patch successfully but I don’t see the changes from the patch in the product. What should I do?

When patching an .EAR file for an application, you may need to delete the cached files in the following folders in order to see the changes provided with the patch:

<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_NAME>/servers/

<MANAGED_SERVER_NAME/tmp/

<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_NAME>/servers/

<MANAGED_SERVER_NAME/cache
